Becoming a Vampyre
Oct. 26th, 2025 09:29 pmDearly Departed and Batty Beauties,
Here lies Lucy. Yes, you heard that right. You may have been made aware of this already, but she’s gearing up to dance as Lucy Westenra in her ballet company’s production of Dracula. She’s close friends with the choreographer, and the two of them have been exchanging ideas throughout. I mentioned some of his choreo ideas earlier, but we’ve also been discussing costuming. I have this dress that I call the “vesper clubwear dress”. It’s a custom of the trumpet sleeve dress from Coquetry Clothing, in burgundy fabric with a square neckline and a very short skirt (basically the miniest it gets without showing crotch). I am wearing shorts today, but I used to rawdog it all the time, lololol. I once rawdogged this skirt with no shorts, thigh high socks with no garters, carried my phone around in my hand since I had no pockets, and was wearing 5 inch platform heels. I fear no god. (ETA it was also cold enough that there was snow on the ground, so I was rawdogging the temperature with no jacket.)
My Immortal purple prose outfit description moment over. My choreographer friend suggested I wear this dress as vampyre!Lucy after she gets bitten, and I am very receptive to this idea. It’d actually be a pretty decent dance costume—it pretty much always lays nicely due to being stretchy velvet with a nice weight, and the flared sleeves and skirt will be a dream to watch flow while I dance. I’m so hexcited for this. To anyone who’s been reading this journal since The Incident, can you believe it all shook out in the end?
Oh, here’s the music he sent me for Lucy’s death. Adore!!
